Wordplay : Creative Process for Writers

This course introduces you to a wide range of writing techniques designed to open up the possibilities of language and to explore the playful, intuitive side of writing and creative process. You will create works in a variety of forms including cut-ups, sound poetry, lyric prose, and manifesto as you learn to stretch your creative boundaries, play with language in your work, and investigate your own creative practice. Through writing exercises, readings, journal keeping, and discussions, you will investigate the aesthetic possibilities of language and explore how the process of writing and rewriting is connected to personal and cultural symbols, dreams, memories, fears, and desires.
